Black Tax follows successful professional Thuli Dlamini (Jo-Anne Reyneke) and her family as she grapples with the unspoken “pay as you grow” rule in her community – that when you’re successful, you pay everyone back for the support they gave you while you grew up.
Thuli is a single mom with a demanding career, and is not at all prepared for her parents to land on her doorstep when they find themselves in financial trouble.

It may sound serious, but with a cast that includes the likes of comedians Sne Dladla and Jason Goliath, the series will have audiences in stitches as Thuli’s young family navigates the concept of paying it forward and suddenly finding themselves living under one roof with Thuli’s mother Martha (Clementine Mosimane) and father Sizwe (Mandla Jwara).
The first of 13 episodes of Black Tax arrives on BET on DStv Now from Tuesday, 21 January 2020 at 21:30, and on Showmax immediately afterwards.
