Everything hinges on Mzi as he makes it to the starting lineup for the Scorpions game but things go downhill as he begins to encounter sharp thorns in his path to a better life.
However, from the get-go, we could tell that Mzi’s first game wasn’t going to be easy. Mzi went from demanding to wear the iconic jersey number 10 to him playing a poor first game.
Mzi is substituted and it’s all because of Gift, the captain, who threw him under the bus at every opportunity during the game.
Mzi is distraught, but thanks to the other players, the team manages to secure a victory.
An investigator on a mission
Mzi’s mom (Dudu) meets with an investigator who is digging up old skeletons about an incident that occurred 27 years ago. The detective is probing for answers only Dudu can give. In the same breath, the detective also wants to get to the bottom of Bra Bheki’s tragic death at his supermarket.
The detective visits Bra Gab in the hopes that he will lead him in the right direction. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get far, as Gab assures him that he does not think Mzi has it in him to kill anyone.
“All I know is that boy Mzi is a softie, he’s so soft he wouldn’t even kill a fly,” says Bra Gab.
The investigator continues to probe further and it looks like the more his interest is piqued the more things lean towards Mzi’s demise. It becomes evident that if they don’t get to the bottom of the matter, Mzi could be the first suspect.
Lefa’s writing himself into his father’s good books?
Father and son Lefa and Bra Rex are starting to get along after Lefa succeeds in signing Mzi to the Scorpions team. Even though Mzi didn’t perform his best, Bra Rex is happy with the team’s overall performance which is a good sign for Lefa, who has been struggling to win his father’s approval.
However, Lefa has more skeletons in his closet, and Owami is pretending she doesn’t see that her brother is living a double life. We cannot imagine what will happen when his secret gets blurted out in public.
Thembi almost gets caught red-handed
Back at the Scorpions’ headquarters, Bra Rex is giving an old friend, a reporter, a tour around the facilities. While they’re there, Thembi and Gift are headed to the locker rooms for their usual business. Just as Bra Rex is about to walk in on them with his reporter friend, they are interrupted.
Thembi and Gift live to cheat for another day.
