Since the start of Uyajola 99, we’ve been concerned about Jub Jub and his team’s safety. Many times we’ve seen close calls with Jub Jub almost getting assaulted by the very same people he busts for cheating.
Lucky for the presenter, his bodyguards have been able to protect him from harm – until Sunday’s finale, which was proof that even Jub Jub’s bodyguards are not exempt from getting physically assaulted.
If I’m wrong, I apologise
Once again, the attention is on the province of KwaZulu-Natal. This week we are introduced to a lady by the name of Thandeka Biyela, who is convinced that her boyfriend is cheating.
Thandeka admits that she does not have any evidence of her boyfriend’s infidelity and if she is proven wrong, she will profusely apologise for her accusations. But should her suspicions prove her correct, all hell will break loose.
A dive in the pool
Without making any announcement, Thandeka and the crew gate-crashed a pool party that turned into a war-zone upon their arrival. Thandeka didn’t ask any questions and lunged towards her boyfriend, MJ, kicking and screaming.
You would think that MJ would show remorse for being caught cheating but, just like his girlfriend, he was furious.
“What the hell are you doing here, Thandeka?” screams MJ. By now, the couple is close to ripping each other’s heads off – but thanks to the bodyguards, they can’t lay hands on each other. An exchange of insults is the only way they’re able to hurt each other at this point.
While Jub Jub attempts to douse the fire, angry MJ breaks free from the bodyguards and shoves Jub Jub into the pool.
Jub Jub’s safety a concern
Thank goodness Jub Jub can swim because that dive into the pool could’ve turned disastrous.
While the episode was dramatic and entertaining, we are all a bit concerned about Jub Jub and his team’s safety. Hopefully the security will be tightened in the next season of the most dramatic reality show in South Africa.
All episodes of Uyajola 99 S5 are available to stream on DStv Now until 27 October 2020.
