The last episode of Umndeni S3 left viewers in utter disbelief as Mr Maseko gained one lover and lost another in what had to be the most dramatic season of the reality show.
The finale of Season 3 was riddled with nothing but trouble for the Maseko family. While Mr Maseko managed to make one lover happy, he also shattered another lover’s heart into pieces with his actions.
Nkanyezi was heartbroken and decided to leave the Maseko household for good.
In the new season, Mr Maseko acknowledges the hurt he brought onto Nkanyezi. To make amends, the prophet decides to travel to Mpumalanga to reunite with his lover.
“I’m going to Mpumalanga to get what’s mine. Nkanyezi left me and that didn’t sit well with me,” says Maseko.
Fetching his lover sounds like a good idea, but why does he string Mahlalaentabeni and Dabula along, knowing very well that Nkanyezi does not get along with either of the two?
Please come back home
Upon arrival, Maseko meets with Nkanyezi and begs her to go back to Gauteng with him.
“I’m here to fetch you, we’re incomplete at home. No one will ever take your place,” says a sad-looking Maseko.
However, Nkanyezi is not budging and says that she cannot live with a man who will not marry her as it’s against her culture.
Though Maseko wants her back, he does not agree with the idea of having to marry her before she goes back home with him.
“A woman can’t tell a man when to marry her. I have to make the decision myself – based on how well she takes care of me,” says Maseko.
The exchange of words between Maseko’s lovers
While in the middle of their conversation Dabula and Mahlalaentabeni enter. Nkanyezi snickers as they approach. The three glare at each other – a sign of yet another dramatic moment that is about to unfold.
“So what’s up with you? The ring situation really messed you up, didn’t it?” says Dabula.
Dabula wastes no time in taunting Nkanyezi about her looks. “Her hairstyle makes her look like a peacock… I don’t understand what’s going on there,” Dabula continues.
Mahlalaentabeni and Dabula reprimand Nkanyezi for her decision to leave, which they see as an act of weakness.
“She can’t leave because of someone who’s gay. It’s her laziness, she’s not strong,” says Dabula.
The exchange of words become more personal when Mahlalaentabeni comments on Nkanyezi’s loss of weight.
“She’s giving us attitude and she doesn’t even realise she’s lost weight. We don’t know if it’s because of the ring or if she’s sick,” says Mahlalaentabeni.
Yikes! Will Nkanyezi go back to the Maseko household after such hurtful words? We doubt it.
