In the previous episode of Umndeni, Maseko and his wives found themselves in an unfavourable situation with Fezile’s family.
This week, both families attempt to put out the flames – but their efforts prove to be futile.
Why is Fezile’s family so upset?
After the feud, the two households managed to sit down and get to the root of the problem.
Fezile’s family is mainly upset that they were made aware of Fezile’s polygamous marriage via the show.
According to them, they were unaware that their child was now married to a man old enough to be her father. This marriage arrangement does not sit well with Fezile’s aunts and uncle as they feel she is too young to be involved in such a relationship.
Fezile wants nothing to do with her family
Fezile’s main reason for not involving her family in her marital affairs is because of what they did to her in the past.
The young wife says that after her mother’s passing, she was abandoned by the family.
“No one cared to take care of me. I called Mam’Buyi, months after mom died. She’s the one that came to my aid when I was alone,” said an emotional Fezile.
Her aunts ridiculed her by saying she’s crying crocodile tears. For Fezile, that was the last straw. Fezile asked her family to leave immediately and to not bother themselves by checking up on her.
Dabula strikes again
Physical fights seem to be the norm at the Maseko house. Last week Dabula was in a kickboxing match with Fezile’s uncle. In this episode, Dabula finds herself in another altercation with her sister-wife Nkanyezi.
What was a light-hearted conversation about being financially independent turned into a tearful fight between the sister-wives.
One minute the two were exchanging insults at each other and the next minute, Nkanyezi was on the floor bawling her eyes out.
Dabula was upset that Nkanyezi had disrespected her about her sexual gender.
“When we talk, you always mention that I am male. I’m not denying that I am a boy, but I don’t act like a boy. That really hurt me because I identify as a woman. You told me to remove my testicles. What’s that supposed to mean?” asked Dabula.
Dabula apologised for her actions, while a crying Nkanyezi did not. However, she did acknowledge that should their husband find out about the fight, he could potentially kick her out for being the instigator.
Will Nkanyezi apologize? Find out in the next episodes of Umndeni.
