Yep, the man got burned, and boy did it hurt.
It’s been a couple of weeks since the launch of the uncensored Comedy Central Roast of AKA in partnership with Showmax on the platform, and it’s still one of the most talked-about local shows currently streaming.
Why, you may ask?
Well, because things got seriously personal on that Roast podium, and no one held back.
AKA found himself at the mercy of the likes of Joey Rasdien, Moshe Ndiki, Mark Fish, Francois Van Coke, Papa Penny Penny, Davido and Nina Hastie.
Who threw the coldest shade?

Pearl Thusi held it down as the first ever black female Roast Master, and although she is AKA’s baby mama’s best friend, she did not mince her words when it came to letting the Supa Mega know what a disappointment he is as a boyfriend.
But the Roast truly became unbearable when AKA was compared to his nemesis Cassper Nyovest. When you stream the uncensored Roast on Showmax, you’ll see the irritation all over his face whenever his rival’s name is mentioned.
And then, of course, they dropped the Queen B bomb. When his ex-girlfriend Bonang Matheba was brought into the conversation, AKA’s expression changed from irritated to extremely uncomfortable.

All of the insults you can think of about AKA were hurled at him, from the fact that his fingers are ridiculously short to the fact that other parts of his body are also smaller than average.
And then he left the stage as he could no longer take the heat.
Yes, it was that bad.
But, never fear, fans of AKA – he wasn’t the only one to get burned.
Who was dealt the hottest burns?

Comedian and Trending SA presenter Nina Hastie got more than her fair share of the roasting.
Her poor vagina was the punchline for a lot of bad-taste humour as Nina was painted as a loose woman. But she’s a tough cookie, and took every joke like the grown woman she is.
In fact, she dropped possibly my favourite line of the evening:
“I haven’t taken this much punishment since the last Nigerian guy…”
No-holds-barred cringe-worthy comedy
It probably goes without saying at this point, but don’t watch the Roast with your parents, especially considering that Moonchild Sanelly strips on stage and gives us all a good look at her butt-cheeks. What a sight for sore eyes that moment was – you might even want to replay it a few times.
And it’s not just strong language and nudity to look forward to – there was also absolutely zero respect spared for political correctness, with the dead, the handicapped, and other unfortunate souls who are usually off-limits being offered up as punchlines in a number of jokes made in terrible (but, also, terribly funny) taste.
Oh, and don’t miss the audience saving the Roast after an outburst from AKA. They roundly reprimanded him and made him sit down and take the Roast like a man.
Would you be able to handle the heat? Stream the full, uncensored Roast of AKA on Showmax right now and decide if you’d cope better than Supa Mega against this intimidating panel of quick-witted, sharp-tongued celebrities who weren’t afraid to play dirty or to bring the heat.
