The River cast and crew have come together to offer their sympathy and support towards a colleague who tested positive for Covid-19.
After a few weeks of being back on set, Tshedza Pictures, the production house behind The River, has since halted any further shooting, and cast and crew have been requested to self-isolate.
Phathu Makwarela of Tshedza Pictures assured the public that ever since the production commenced on 1 May 2020, all the necessary lockdown guidelines were implemented on set.
“After we received the news of the colleague testing positive, we immediately asked the cast and crew that came into contact with the member to go into self-isolation. They will soon avail themselves to health authorities for testing, in line with government directives,” said Phathu.
Nomsa Philiso, Channel Director for local entertainment channels at M-Net, states that they’ve contacted the production team and has assured them of the channel’s support and would like to wish the affected production team member a speedy recovery.
The River has since closed its doors for the set to be decontaminated.
