This past week, The Queen introduced us to a new character by the name of Buntu Toto (portrayed by Phila Madlingozi). Buntu is Schumacher’s brother – the siblings haven’t seen each other since they were young. All Buntu had was Schumacher’s photograph of them together, and for the longest time, Buntu thought Schumacher was dead, until he came across a clip of his long-last brother online.
Buntu: A troublemaker or a lost soul?
Our first impression of Buntu isn’t positive at all. The young man caused trouble in the short space of time he appeared on the screen. Upon arriving at the local restaurant (Corner House), Buntu became violent and very troublesome. He not only picked a fight but he also hit on someone’s girlfriend and refused to pay for the bill after complaining about the poor service he received.
Schumacher’s reaction to little brother’s behaviour
Upon finding out about his brother, Schumie was ready to send him back to the Eastern Cape by giving him money for a ticket, but Buntu isn’t planning on leaving anytime soon.
Just when Schumie was starting to embrace a life free of trouble, the arrival of his younger sibling is now forcing him to face the past he has been running away from. Will he be ready to face the toxicity that he was raised in?
Kagiso is working overtime
Kagiso’s life is currently inundated with problems. His girlfriend Siyanda is now knee-deep in drugs after he caught her with a whole brick of cocaine she stole from the family business.
He now finds himself in the middle of trying to help Siyanda while hiding her addiction problem from his family. He suggested rehab, but Siyanda fears the possibility of losing her child. Will Kagiso be able to put up with all the challenges he’s been getting from Siyanda situation?
Harriet reigns supreme, as always!
Harriet, the problem solver and all-round bad-ass has to save her family business once again from Jasmine the opportunist. In recent weeks, Jasmine has been taunting Goodness Mabuza, as a way to make a name for herself in the drug business.
Jasmine not only arranged a staged hijack against Goodness but when that plan fell through, Jasmine then tampered with Goodness’s car brakes. This almost led to a fatal accident. The problem is that when you mess with the Mabuzas, you’re automatically messing with Harriet’s business as well.
In true Harriet style, she tortured Jasmine until she sang like a canary. Jasmine revealed that she was the one who staged the hijackings and that her story about the Therons wanting to take over the Mabuza drug business was nothing but a hoax.
Although Harriet did not kill Jasmine, she got rid of a problem that potentially could’ve caused her and the Mabuzas a fortune.
