A happy ending
The 30th of January 2020 will go down as one of the most memorable and joyous days of Somizi and Mohale’s lives. Their wedding was not only a union of their love but also a union of both families.
Having gone through so many trials and tribulations, Somizi and Mohale proved to the world yet again that love will always win, no matter how bleak the circumstances may be.
The special day had finally arrived and what an emotional time it was for Somizi, who, days before, was going through a difficult time after his mother was hospitalised following a heart attack.
Mam’ Mary Twala could almost not attend her son’s wedding due to her frail health but after Somizi begged for her temporary release from the hospital, Mary was there to wish her son well.
“Thank you for coming. I wouldn’t have gone through today with such a huge wedding without you,” said Somizi.
Getting ready – an emotional time
Somizi tugged at our heart-strings when tears began streaming down his cheeks as he fitted his gorgeous wedding suit, custom-designed by Gert-Johan Coetzee, while his mother watched him with pride. Both mother and son cried as they realised that the day they had been waiting for all their lives had finally arrived.
“When my mom came, it felt like I was watched by an angel that no one else can see but myself.” – Somizi.

Mohale was also very emotional as his day started off on a rocky note. For a moment, his tears were not of joy but of anxiety as he struggled with the fitting of suits and other minor glitches.
But after having a one-on-one video chat with his husband-to-be, all was well. Somizi assured a stressed-out Mohale that everything was going to be okay – and he was right.
The impeccable reception
Somizi and Mohale clearly felt that Zavion and Liquid Image Consultings outdid themselves with their planning and execution of the reception. Everything from the candles to the tables were captivating – but don’t let us spoil it for you.
From Mohale being walked down the aisle by his father to Somizi’s grand aisle entrance, from the family prayers to the vows, everything about this episode is difficult to watch with dry eyes – it is, quite simply, love personified in 45 minutes of perfection.
