Lerato Mvelase welcomed viewers to the third season of the most heartbreaking show in Mzansi: Seng’khathele. After two difficult seasons of the show so far, the third season got off to a heavy start as we were transported to Princess in Roodepoort to meet Katlego, who was ready to dump her partner – Vusi.
Where did it all go wrong?
It looked as if Katlego and Vusi’s romance had gotten off to a beautiful start after they met at a party; they began dating shortly afterwards. They moved in together within three months and judging from what we could see, they were #CoupleGoals. So how did they end up on this show?
After falling pregnant at 21 and looking to get married, they had the world at their feet. Then something changed after Vusi quit his job and began binge-drinking. This led to their relationship becoming toxic and Katlego reached out to Lerato and the team because she was done. She decided to end it at the very club they met.
Less money, more problems?
The timeline was not impressed with Vusi. Society can’t stand a broke man leaching off of his partner and that’s exactly what Katlego accused him of doing. Vusi was defensive about missing rent payments and gambling their money away, despite the fact that it was Katlego who was bringing in all the money.
Red Flags and white lies
One of the biggest red flags in a relationship is the tone someone takes when they speak with their partner. As the conversation grew heated, Vusi’s tone became more aggressive and viewers on social media were quick to react.
Things became even more damning when Katlego revealed that Vusi had impregnated another girl! Something she discovered via text. He lied, claiming that the message was for his friend but the lie didn’t help.
The key moment
After being probed and pushed, Vusi eventually confessed to being the person the text was intended for, but he refused to admit that the child was his. When Katlego said she was done with the relationship, he tried his best to fight for the mother of his child, but she was moved.
Needless to say, tweeps were pleased to see the back of Vusi. Host Lerato didn’t even bother trying to console him; Vusi looked like a man whose crimes had finally caught up with him. Lying and cheating will never get anywhere.
Seng’khathele S3 is available to binge-watch on Showmax.
