We’re back at it again, with Lerato Mvelase ready to mediate another painful break up, and, eish, the opening sequence alone was enough to get us teary. This week we met Bonokuhle from Nkomazi, who was ready to call it quits with her partner, Fundzile.
A promising start
Lerato Mvelase’s bright and bubbly energy lifted the spirits in the opening minutes before things got serious and the presenter introduced us to 23-year-old Bonokuhle, who shared the story of how her love with Fundzile went sour.
According to Bonokuhle, things got off to a great start (as they usually do!) before the cracks began to appear. Their friends believed that they could be together for the long run and in photos, the two of them looked great together. But things went downhill when they no longer posted about each other on social media and they stopped talking.
Next up, the biggest red flag was when Fundzile posted a picture of her engagement ring on Instagram. Bonokuhle was shocked as to how she could have accepted someone else’s proposal when they were still together.
Despite these constant warning signs, Bonokuhle stuck around for a long time, hoping things would change. As it turns out, all she really wanted was closure, and to find out if Fundzile has actually moved on or not.
Say hello to Fundzile
Fundzile appeared to the public for the first time and from the jump we could tell that there was something a little funny about the young lady. She admitted that they are both busy, but that she isn’t above lying to get her way.
She also claimed that Bonokuhle was her friend rather than her partner and Lerato was confused about what was true and what wasn’t in this complicated story.
The moment of truth arrives
In the opening moments of their discussion, Fundzile was on the defensive. She accused Bonokuhle of “complaining too much” and laughed off the suggestion that she no longer posts about her on social media.
When the cheating allegations came out, Fundzile retaliated by asking if Bonokuhle was not seeing someone else as well. Fundzile thought she would catch her partner out but it appeared that her strategy wasn’t working out and Mzansi quickly saw through that.
Fundzile kept dancing around the issue of the engagement before she admitted that she’s not engaged, but is seeing someone. Yes, we were also confused!
A not-so-clean break
Bonokuhle eventually came out and spilled the beans but Fundzile didn’t look too hurt by the decision. It looked as if the writing had been on the wall for a long time and the ladies agreed to go their separate ways. It wasn’t easy to watch, but it was definitely the best outcome.
Lerato was left to comfort Bonokuhle before wrapping up another eventful edition of Mzansi’s saddest love show.
