In another episode of Our Perfect Wedding, we start to believe in love once again. Episode 6 of the Mzanzi Magic show takes us to Soshanguve to meet Yvonne and Sello, whose love story is over three years in the making.
The phone call
In 2017, Yvonne and Sello were set up by a mutual friend who thought the pair would be well suited. The friend gave Sello Yvonne’s phone number. Sello, always confident, said that when Yvonne first answered the phone he was taken aback by Yvonne’s charming voice, calling her “baby” in that very first call.
“I wanted to test the waters and see if I stood a chance. And it looks like I was on the money,” says Sello.
The two eventually met after Sello’s many attempts to get hold of her: talk about a determined man!
It’s never too late to find love
The main reason this couple invited Our Perfect Wedding was to prove to society that it is never too late to find love – Yvonne and Sello are in their 40s.
Yvonne further explains that she had long given up on finding love … until Sello came along.
The wedding attire
A day before the wedding, our lovely host Khanyisa Titus meets up with the couple to go through their wish list items. And at the top of the list is the obvious wedding attire.
Khanyisa meets with designer Jan Morir, who explains that the bride requested the Khelobedu traditional attire, and added that the colour scheme for the wedding would be olive green and maroon.

The designer and bride worked closely together, designing not only the bridal attire but also the bridesmaids’ dresses, and we must say the end product was impressive!
Molly Mahlangu does it again
Molly Mahlangu is no stranger to us. The talented wedding planner did the decor for another happy couple that appeared in a previous episode of Our Perfect Wedding.
Molly always understands the assignment when it comes to wedding receptions, and so it is no surprise that Yvonne chose her to do the decor.
Yvonne’s vision was to have a uniform colour scheme throughout the celebration. She asked Molly to include olive green and maroon in the decor as well. She put all her faith in Molly and, as expected, Molly did not disappoint.
Molly went all out and exceeded Yvonne’s expectations.
Introducing Mr and Mrs Maake

The special day has finally arrived and Yvonne’s wedding gown is breathtaking. Yvonne loved her gown from the moment she saw it, and so does Sello, who sheds tears of joy when Yvonne walks down the aisle.
The wedding ceremony is a success and is sealed with a kiss. In a symbolic gesture representing love and peace, the newlyweds release pure white doves, showing how they enter the marriage with pure hearts and intentions.

The traditional ceremony
The traditional ceremony was nothing short of amazing. As the lively celebrations commence, we see the traditional attire that formed part of the couple’s wish list. Yvonne and Sello both look colourful in their Khelobedu attire. Rating the attire, Sello exclaims, “I think 10 plus” adding, “You can see it for yourself, we look great”.
Commenting on the decor, Yvonne shares that she thinks Molly did an extraordinary job.
