In episode 8, we follow a love story that goes back to 2012: a love story that began in a taxi, where lovebirds Nomfundo and Siyabonga met.
The two even “had an argument not knowing that nine years later, the universe would bring them together forever” shares a barefooted Khanyisa Titus – this episode’s host – on a sandy beach in KZN, before taking us to meet the soon-to-be-wed couple. Here are some of the highlights from their journey to the alter.
Traditional attire over western looks
At the beginning of the episode, Siyabonga says that they want to show the nation the beauty of a traditional Zulu wedding.
“The reason we called Our Perfect Wedding is that we have moved away from our customs and we have become so western,” says Siyabonga.

The perfect rings
Next up is the traditional Zulu attire for the wedding ceremony and for that, the couple goes to MaMkhwanazi from Mtuba. Our host arrives with the couple, eager to see first-hand what traditional Zulu wedding attire looks like, and what a vision the outfits were!
MaMkhwanazi’s work gets an excited thumbs-up from the couple, with our jokester groom saying, “This is exactly what I want, I love this. This is how a Zulu man looks, just like this. You wear sandals – not All-Stars – with your traditional attire … and he must be in his birthday suit!”
The perfect decor
Last on our couple’s wishlist is the wedding decor. For this, they turn to wedding decorator Lungi Ntshangase from Sobethu Events.
The colour scheme the couple asked for was one white, bottle green and red with just a touch of gold – which our decorator got just right!
