Our Perfect Wedding Season 11 returns with the ever-charming Nomsa Buthelezi-Shezi.
In the premiere episode, Nomsa finds herself in Johannesburg to meet Kelebogile (Lebo) and Phumelele (Phume), who are soon to be united as Mr and Mrs Seepi!
The young couple met at a wedding, and Lebo just knew he had to go up to Phume and speak to her. From there onwards, it was a matter of preparing for lobola arrangements and embarking on what would be a life-long journey as husband and wife.
The couple’s wishlist was clear: wedding attire needed to be sorted – from the bride and groom to the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Lebo’s mother made all the dresses; sewing together the bridesmaids’ champagne-coloured dresses as well as the bride’s gown. From everyone’s reaction, it was clear that the mother-in-law did an exceptional job with her design.
Phume tells us she’s been determined to get on this show because she wants to show people that there is still love out there.
The big day
And it was only more happiness from there, with emotional tears moments before the wedding as the bridal party got ready. Over at the wedding venue, the husband-to-be and his sister danced down the aisle in their excitement.
Complementing Phume’s serious, strong-headedness, throughout the episode Lebo cracks jokes and does what he does best – making his wife smile.
The meeting at the aisle was no different as the two stood before each other, looking beautiful. None of their charm was lost before the audience as they both shared touching vows from the heart. Viewers on Twitter noted just how natural it felt to see them exchange their vows, with nothing feeling rehearsed.
To tie the whole white wedding together, an exchange of rings, a sweet embrace and of course, a kiss between the newlyweds!
The traditional wedding
Next, the episode took us on an exciting journey from wedding to reception, and from Johannesburg to Rustenburg.
Phume makes her official move into the loving arms of the Seepi family, as words are shared from both sides of the family at the reception of the traditional wedding.
All of this takes place at their second wedding celebration – after the white wedding. This time, the couple is wearing a rich, bright green African print pattern which Lebo says makes him “feel like a king.”
But in all of the royalty and the jokes from the delightful couple and our hilarious host, the part that makes the wedding truly perfect is the love. Phume was right: real love is still out there, and it was all caught on camera.
