Sibongile and Joyce have gone through quite a lot since they crossed paths again 20 years after their first encounter.
Ntokozo learns the truth about her past
Initially, Ntokozo didn’t believe Joyce when she told her that she was stolen on the streets of Johannesburg those many years ago.
Joyce then made the situation worse when she decided to cooperate with Sibongile’s plan after Sibongile discovered that Joyce was part of a human-trafficking syndicate that almost killed Ntokozo.
Sibongile convinced Joyce to lie and to say that she had thrown Ntokozo in a bin when she was only a day old, when, in fact, it was Sibongile who stole Ntokozo from Joyce when she lay unconscious in the middle of the street those many years ago.
The father’s truth
When Sibongile deceives Joyce, Joyce decides to tell Ntokozo the truth. But Ntokozo isn’t buying it.
It’s only after her biological father confirms that she was indeed stolen that Ntokozo starts warming up towards Joyce.
“Your mother always wanted one thing when we were married. A child,” her father says.
He continues to tell her about the pain Joyce endured after losing her, and Ntokozo hangs on every word uttered by her father.
Ntokozo and Joyce’s heartfelt moment
After finding out the truth from her father, Ntokozo confronts Joyce and calls her a liar.
Joyce explains that she had to lie about throwing her in a bin or risk losing her forever. Ntokozo understands why Joyce made her decision, and they make amends. She makes it clear that she doesn’t want anything to do with Sibongile, who has been lying to her for all these years.
“I allowed people to lie to me for years. It has come to an end now. Because I know that my mother loves me,” says Ntokozo.
Sibongile eats humble pie
Meanwhile, Sibongile’s world comes crashing down. Ntokozo tells her that she’s happy with her real family and wants nothing to do with her.
Sibongile’s lies have caught up with her and this time, there’s no turning back.
Her downfall is celebrated by viewers who have waited patiently to finally witness Sibongile’s demise.
Now that the truth is out, what tricks does Sibongile have up her sleeve?
