This week’s episode of Mzali Wami kicks off with Francine battling for her life in hospital and ends with Ntokozo getting kidnapped by Terror’s gang.
Ntokozo blames herself for what happened to Francine (Joyce’s foster child) since she is the one who insisted that they have a last round of shots which lead to Francine landing in hospital.
Ntokozo finally meets with Joyce to apologise for what happened to Francine – little do they know that they share a deeper connection.
Let’s take a look at how this week unfolded.
Ntokozo finally meets her biological mother
Ntokozo arrives late for her interview and ends up losing her internship. Musa insists that he can talk to Joyce to put a good word in for Ntokozo.
When they meet, Ntokozo apologises about what happened to Francine and mentions that if she could, she would trade places with Francine without thinking twice. Now, keep in mind that Francine was initially the girl that was supposed to be kidnapped and sold into the human trafficking business.
Joyce wants to save Francine from being trafficked and her hospitalisation buys Joyce time to replace her with (someone she thinks is) a stranger. Joyce is scared of losing another daughter and is thinking of sacrificing Ntokozo, but she doesn’t know that Ntokozo is the biological child she lost many years ago.
Their relationship grows fond but Terror wants her to deliver
Terror reminds Joyce how powerful they are together and that he has seen the beautiful girl that Joyce mentioned (Ntokozo). According to Terror, this is a win-win situation. Joyce will get to save Francine and deliver her promise to Terror.
Joyce and Ntokozo work together and they get along so well that Joyce starts to second-guess her decision to have Ntokozo kidnapped.
Ntokozo gets kidnapped
While walking alone to Lucia’s place, Ntokozo gets kidnapped and thrown in the boot of a car. She manages to retrieve her phone and calls Joyce. Joyce knows what is going on but pretends to be shocked and promises to call the police. She urges her not to call anyone but to wait for her.
Meanwhile, she informs Terror that his stupid gang didn’t even search Ntokozo, and now she might call the police. They quickly open the boot to take the phone from her but it’s too late, she has called Sibongile. Even though the call was cut short, Sibongile could hear that her daughter was in trouble.
