On this second episode of the Mzansi Magic reality show, Musa Mseleku visits crane operator, Ntokozo Maxwell Nkosi.
Ntokozo wants Musa to help him tell his wife, Nonkululeko Sukase, that he wants to take a second wife as a way to keep his family legacy and lineage alive.
“I’m so determined to enlarge this family, I’m so determined to sustain the long-term survival of my clan. I want my surname to live,” says Ntokozo.
An umbrella causes dispute
The second wife to be, Nozipho Mtshali, enters the conversation and reveals how she met Ntokozo and that she’s met Nonkululeko before.
“When I went to the Nkosi homestead, she was not there. Nonkululeko went to her parent’s home so Bab’Nkosi asked me to go visit him,” shares Nozipho.
Musa is visibly shocked upon hearing this. But wait, it gets worse.
According to Nonkululeko, she realised that Ntokozo was having an affair when she discovered an umbrella hanging from a curtain in their bedroom.
After an intense interrogation about the unknown umbrella, Ntokozo confessed that the umbrella belongs to Nozipho. All hell broke loose and a physical altercation occurred.
“Nonkululeko took the heater and threw it at me,” Ntokozo reveals.
However, Ntokozo reassures Musa that it’s because the two women were not properly introduced that the altercation occurred.
Musa states that polygamy is bad if the initiator implements it incorrectly. And in this situation, it’s clear that things have been done in bad taste.
We’re not even married
When everyone finally meets, it becomes apparent that not everything is as it seems in the Nkosi household.
Ntokozo makes his intentions clear to Nonkululeko that he would now like to take on a second wife.
“But you’re struggling to maintain me. When last did you buy me clothes? I’m just saying that he wants another woman when he can’t even meet all my needs,” says Nonkululeko.
The conversation gets more awkward when Nonkululeko reveals that she and Ntokozo aren’t married. The couple doesn’t even have a house to call their own.
This revelation does not sit well with Mseleku.
“Men are not taught how to build a home. You pay lobola for someone but you don’t build a home for her, you don’t marry her. Yet you have the audacity to call her your wife?”, asks Mseleku.
It’s a no from Nonkululeko
By the time Nozipho arrives for a sit-down chat with everyone, Nonkululeko has already made her decision.
“This is the woman who slept in my house and you want me to agree to this? I am fighting him, so I say no,” Nonkululeko concludes.
Nonkululeko adds that if Ntokozo met all her needs, and respected their relationship, maybe she would’ve considered accepting his request.
Musa concludes that for Ntokozo’s matters to come right, he needs to humble himself and listen to his woman’s grievances.
But it’s clear that Nonkululeko has made her decision.
“I will never allow him to take on a second wife. Never. Even if he rights his wrongs, I will still not allow it,” says Nonkululeko.
