Njabulo has betrayed his fiancée, Ncamisile, countless times by having many children out of their relationship. And to add insult to injury he now wants to marry his admin assistant.
“Polygamy is not something that was there in my family growing up,” Njabulo explains. “But because I have an ancestral calling, I got a vision from my ancestors who advised me to take on a second wife who would be of great help to Ncamisile.”
Njabulo has been busy planting many seeds
When Musa and Njabulo have their first conversation, Njabulo drops a bombshell. The aspiring polygamist tells Musa that he has a total of eight kids! He only has one child with Ncamisile and the rest are from other relationships he had while with Ncamisile.
What makes matters worse is that his admin assistant, the woman he’s currently dating, is now pregnant – which makes him a father of nine children. Wow!
“When you have impregnated so many women, it’s only befitting that a wife comes out of those women. You made neither of them a wife, yet now you want me to help you find a wife? That puzzles me because I wonder what was wrong with the other women,” Musa says.
Enter the sister-wife
The potential second wife is Nomzamo Zulu. Nomzamo and Njabulo met when Nomzamo accompanied her aunt to a traditional ceremony that was also attended by Njabulo.
And since their introduction to each other, they have got along like a house on fire and have been dating for two years.
Initially, Njabulo didn’t tell Nomzamo that he had a wife, but he later confessed.
“I would say he lied to me when he asked me out because he only confessed after two weeks of dating,” says Nomzamo.
She continues to admit that it was not easy finding that her man is already involved with another woman whom he has been with for more than 12 years. But she’s tried to accept it because she and Njabulo are in love.
Ncamisile knows Nomzamo
Musa is shocked to learn that Ncamisile knows of Nomzamo and that the two have met on numerous occasions. But Ncamisile knows Nomzamo as her man’s assistant and nothing more.
Musa questions whether Ncamisile will accept Nomzamo as a sister-wife since she and Njabulo have betrayed her.
Ncamisile is understandably not impressed
After a long conversation, Musa finally meets Ncamisile. Njabulo tells Ncamisile the reason Musa is here.
Ncamisile makes a shocking revelation. She is not Njabulo’s wife but his fiancée. During this entire time, Musa and the viewers thought Njabulo was married to Ncamisile.
There seems to be a trend of men requesting permission to marry again when they haven’t even completed the marriage proceedings of their first fiancée. Heart-breaking!
“We’re not married. But you’re already having thoughts about getting another woman while I’m still here,” Ncamisile says.
A two-for-one wedding day
Njabulo makes matters worse by requesting that he also marries both women on the same day.
“I ask you to allow me to take MaZulu and that the two of you cooperate. I’m also going to need your help in terms of making honest women out of the two of you,” he says.
After Njabulo’s request, the tension became so thick, you could cut it with a knife.
As a reply to all of that, Ncamisile simply says, “That’s too bad because I’m not going to do that.”
Musa acknowledges that it’s completely unfair for him to ask Ncamisile to share her special day with another woman.
“Clearly, I’m the fool”
Nomzamo finally enters the conversation. Ncamisile’s piercing glare at Nomzamo thickens the tension in the room even more.
She realises that all of this was planned, making her out to look like a fool.
“It’s not my first time seeing her. I knew her as someone who assisted him with work. It’s like this was already planned, so I’m the fool here,” says Ncamisile.
After an open conversation between the three, Ncamisile calms down and tells everyone that a polygamous marriage is something she might consider.
But by the looks of things, Njabulo and Nomzamo will have to tread carefully around Ncamisile, who doesn’t take nonsense from anyone.
Musa advises that Njabulo finish paying off Ncamisile’s lobola and maybe they might taste victory at the end.
Njabulo and Nomzamo reveal that a load has been lifted off their shoulders. but Ncamisile remains sceptical and says that everything is going to depend on his behaviour going forward.
