We tuned in for another edition of Love Back this week as Mzwandile made his way to the town of Hammanskraal in Gauteng to meet Katlego.
Katlego is a young, easy-going fella who likes all of the good things in life. However, something was clearly missing from his happiness, which is why he found himself on this show.
When love went wrong
Like every relationship, things appeared to start on a happy note as he opened up about meeting his bae for the first time and how she was always his type. Shortly into the relationship, however, the trust issues started to creep up.
Katlego suspected his lady might have someone on the side when he tried to reach her and was greeted by a male voice on the phone – something he felt was a red flag but he tried his best to let it go. That is, until the girlfriend’s sister exposed her by telling Katlego that she was actually seeing someone else!
He saw all the evidence he wanted to see when he went through her phone and the relationship looked to be doomed from there. To get back at her, our homie went ahead and cheated on his partner but in the process he got another girl pregnant. Not ideal at all!
Can Katlego win her heart back?
After everything that went down, Katlego has realised that he was wrong for the way he reacted and now he wants to try to get things back on track with the lady who was once in his life.
We met Leah, Katlego’s ex, for the first time, and she looked to be a peaceful and quiet person with a lot of love to give. However, she was not expecting to see Katlego at the restaurant when they both sat down!
He pulled out all the stops to prepare a romantic meal with a tasty dessert for them to enjoy. It looked like he was off to a good start and he wasted no time in telling her how much he loved her.
Trust issues
When the conversation got serious, we got to the bones of the problem. Leah revealed that the root of all of their problems is the fact that Katlego doesn’t trust her. He opened up about his insecurities and she hit back by revealing that his insecurities are leading to problems in their relationship.
However, even though she loved him, she felt like she couldn’t overcome how he had cheated on her.
Will love win?
Leah was not going to be easy to win over. Her biggest concerns continued to be trust and respect. She felt as if Katlego didn’t respect her and never could. Right as their conversation reached its climax, Mzwandile came through and tried to get to the bottom of their discussion.
Of course it was time to make a decision and when our host asked the crucial question, Leah revealed that she would be willing to give him a love back.
Sometimes trust is broken but over time, with the right effort and attitude, it can be healed. Leah and Katlego had agreed to give one another a new lease on love and Mzansi was happy for them.
We don’t always see happy endings on Love Back, but we are always thrilled when we do. Until next week, friends, keep your loved ones close!
