How to watch DStv on your phone or computer for free

How nice would it be to watch Lindiwe from The River’s latest exploits while lying in bed, or watching the latest English Premier League matches from Supersport on your phone?

DStv has a service called DStv Now that makes it possible for any DStv customer – it doesn’t matter what package you’re on – to watch the same channels and shows you can watch on your decoder at home, but on your phone.

There is no additional fee or charge – the DStv Now service is free for all DStv subscribers.

What is DStv Now?

It’s an online streaming service free to all DStv subscribers. The DStv Now app for smartphones, tablets, computers and smart TVs has all the content available on your decoder. Go to now.dstv.com to register.

How to sign up for DStv Now

1. Go to now.dstv.com and click the Sign up button.
2. Fill in your email address, mobile number and choose a strong password.
3. Click Create an Account.
4. Next step is to link your DStv account to the DStv Now online streaming service.
5. Fill in the DStv account holder’s ID number, your DStv smartcard number, or your DStv customer number. Any will work.
6. Once you’ve linked DStv Now to your DStv account, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
7. You’re officially signed up for DStv Now.

How to watch DStv on your phone

1. Download the DStv Now app (Android / Apple) for your phone (or tablet).
2. Log in using the email address and password you created when you signed up for DStv Now.
3. Choose either Live (to see the TV channels on your package) or Catch Up (to see the latest episodes of shows you’re watching).
4. Start watching!

How to watch DStv channels on your phone

1. Log into the DStv Now app and go to Live.
2. Scroll to find your favourite channels, like Mzansi Magic and 1Magic
3. Hit play.

Tip: You’ll be able to see the same TV channels that are part of your DStv package – the same ones you watch on your decoder.

How does DStv Now work for Compact subscribers?

If you are a DStv customer, it doesn’t matter which DStv package you are subscribed to – DStv Compact Plus, Compact, Family, Easy or Access – you can still watch DStv on your phone or computer using DStv Now. Just follow the steps above to sign up.

How to watch Mzansi Magic on your phone or computer

If you’re addicted to shows from Mzansi Magic and 1Magic on DStv like The River, The Queen, Isibaya, Kwa Mam’mkhize, and Mnakwethu, you’ll be happy to know they’re all on DStv Now.

1. Go to now.dstv.com or log into your DStv Now app on your phone.
2. Go to Live and Scroll until you get to 103 (1Magic) or 161 (Mzansi Magic)
3. Start watching!

Missed an episode?

If you missed an episode of your fave 1Magic or Mzansi Magic show, go to Catch Up. Type the name of the show into the Search bar and it should pop up and click play.

How to watch DStv on your computer

1. Go to now.dstv.com.
2. Log in using the email address and password you created when you signed up for DStv Now.
3. Go to either Live or Catch Up and find something to watch.
4. Start watching!

How do I know I’m signed up for DStv Now?

You will be able to log in at now.dstv.com with the email address and password you provided when you signed up. Once logged in, you should see the same Live channels and Catch Up content that is available on the decoder at home.
