In the past season of the hugely popular reality show, Maseko and Kolobe brought the drama with some extra spice, showing reality TV lovers that nothing is really off limits when it comes to their lives. There were also a few serious talking points that came up around Kolobe’s love for other people’s partners, witchcraft accusations and Maseko’s cheating ways.
The highly anticipated reunion special was hosted by radio and TV personality Selby Mkhize. Selby kicked things off by chatting to Maseko and Kolobe. The polygamous men spoke about their relationships with their partners and, while they have different ways of doing things, they shared that they respect each other.
Dabula gets real
The show switched up and got us all emotional when Dabula was asked about her brother’s wellbeing. “I was raised by my father and he passed on. Before he passed away, he gave me a message. He said, ‘take care of them’. So, when I finally took my brother to rehab, I remember the message from my father,” she explained.
After sharing that story, Dubula’s brother joined them on stage, and they were both in tears. He spoke about his experience in rehab, and he revealed that he’s now clean. Dabula asked her brother to never go back to a life of drugs and assured him that she’d always have his back.
Cheating and witchcraft
It wouldn’t be a reunion special without a bit of drama, right? Maseko’s cheating came up, and his wives had quite a lot to say about it. Nkanyezi said, “He said we are fine as we are. So, it’s almost like he really disrespected us.”
Meanwhile, Dabula seems to have expected such behaviour from Maseko. “I understand. That’s the man he is. The only thing I can say to you is that a dog will always be a dog. You will never change.”
She added that while she’s accepted it, she draws a line when witchcraft is involved.
It seems there’s a belief that Maseko was “tricked” into being with his side chick, Collen. Maseko shared, “I don’t think that there is a relationship, it was orchestrated.”
Collen was accused to using muthi on Maseko. When asked about this, she explained that her mother took her to a traditional healer.
Collen is not welcome
“She said when you get into a polygamous relationship you have to be strong and know yourself, because there are women there and they will not be happy that another woman is joining in. You have to stand your ground and be strong,” Collen explained.
One of Collen’s partners, Fezile, still refuses to recognise or accept Collen. “Even if they burn the African sage for her or do whatever, I still have not recognised her… She must come and kneel here, we don’t recognise her.”
Well, whatever the ladies have to say about her, Collen doesn’t really care. “Whether they want me or they don’t, as long as the man wants me, I’ve got no stress,” she said.
Kolobe the home wrecker
While Collen is being accused of using muthi to get Maseko’s attention, Kolobe has been labelled a home wrecker. Selby asked him if he’s aware of the fact that he’s breaking people’s families.
The thing is, some of the people Kolobe is in a relationship with have wives. This makes it tricky, right? Anyway, he defended himself by saying that while the families do get wrecked, he’s not the cause.
