After being betrayed by the one person she trusted more than anyone else, inspirational South African public prosecutor Zandile gets arrested for murder after uncovering a conspiracy. She finds herself in jail and must survive while surrounded by the women she has convicted in this local prison drama series, now streaming on Netflix.
One question keeps going through her mind, over and over again: How did this happen? The only thing she is guilty of is trusting the wrong person.
Zandile is immediately thrown into the harsh and brutal world of Diamond City. Not only are the conditions appalling, the guards are abusive and the hopelessness she is confronted with is crushing. She also has to contend with the women she last saw when she got them sent to jail.
Expect a star-studded cast, including Noxee Maqashalala (Intersexions, Generations) as Zandile; Angela Sithole (Zabalaza) as Pearl; Thabang Molaba (The Queen, Blood & Water) as Mak; and Ilse Klink (Lockdown, Arendsvlei) as Abida.
All 13 episodes are now on the streaming service after it first aired on SABC in 2018.
