Lehlohonolo Matsieng is a 32-year-old bachelor from the West Rand. He is an aspiring entrepreneur who is outgoing and very confident in himself.
He has been on the show before but states that he was still childish at the time and he is now back after six years to try his luck again.
The handsome bachelor said he’s looking for someone as confident as he is and someone who will be able to make their relationship a priority.
A model who doesn’t like wearing clothes
Bachelorette number one is a model by the name of Julian. Julian is represented by her friends Queen, Laura and Nomthandazo, who seem to be very impressed with Lehlohonolo.
Julian is not only a model but a nudist, and an influencer. Things got interesting when her friends told Lehlohonolo that Julian enjoys being naked. That really humoured him.
To test out what type of woman Julian is, especially when it comes to money, Lehlohonolo asked her friends what Julian would do if he deposited R1 million into her account.
The friends responded by saying that Julian would naturally take care of her child with the money. The bachelor was not impressed with the answer as he would’ve expected her to figure out ways to multiply the money.
Overall, Lehlohonolo did not enjoy the date with the first family. The friend’s tattoos also did not sit well with him and thus he was not convinced that Julian is the type of girl he would want to date.
Can he afford her beauty?
In the second family, we are introduced to Cynthia, an outspoken DJ who is looking for someone who will match her strong personality.
Unfortunately, Cynthia’s friends (especially Nthabiseng) did not think Lehlohonolo was the perfect match for their hot friend. Purely because the bachelor isn’t tall enough and because he’s young, even though they’re the same age – awkward, much?
Cynthia is described as a cross between Beyonce and Ciara. She loves getting dolled up and doesn’t mind a man who smokes and drinks, though she’d prefer if he didn’t smoke and drink excessively.
Lehlohonolo mentions that he does not mind a girl who gets dolled up as he finds weaves and make-up attractive – in fact, he loves them. However, that compliment did not impress Cynthia’s friends, especially Nthabiseng.
Nthabiseng threw a curve-ball at Lehlohonolo when she said:
“It’s fine to say you love them but do you have money to afford them?”
The bachelor was taken aback by the question and thought it was rude of Nthabiseng to ask. Even the viewers were concerned about Nthabiseng’s attitude.
A woman of God with 16 personalities
In comparison to the other two ladies, Leah seems to be more stable personally and in her career. Leah is a God-fearing financial advisor who enjoys attending church.
However, things became a bit tense and awkward for Lehlohonolo when Leah’s friends told him that she is still a virgin and is only willing to be deflowered after marriage. When they asked him if he’d wait until marriage, Lehlohonolo said yes, but deep down he was not impressed.
Surprisingly enough, the bachelor chose Leah to take out on a date. The main reason was that when he asked her friends about the R1 million question, they told him that Leah would find ways to multiply the money. Lehlohonolo thought he’d hit the jackpot – not only is Leah a woman of God but she’s smart with money and is a virgin.
However, after seeing a video of Cynthia, Lehlohonolo wished he had chosen her instead of Leah. Mainly because she’s beautiful and secondly because she realised that Leah might not be okay upstairs.
Leah admits that she has 16 personalities in her and they all tend to pull her in different directions at times.
Lehlohonolo leaves Date My Family having not secured his perfect date. Will he return for a third chance at love? We hope not.
