Another episode of Date My Family aired this week with an interesting twist. A new set of comedians and celebrities watched the dating show from the comfort of their homes, commenting on all the outrageous moments of this particular episode.
This week we had media personalities/content creators Lasizwe and Carpo, and we saw the return of comedian Tumi aka StopNonsons.
Remember the man of God?
Simon Mahlangu (44) is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining bachelors we’ve had on this season of Date My Family.
His demeanour, voice and even outlook on life had us giggling from the moment he appeared on the screen.
Carpo found it weird that the pastor is looking for love on a dating show instead of finding a compatible partner at church.
Simon’s abstinence
We were all surprised to find out that Simon hasn’t had sex since 1994. Instead, he occasionally gives himself self-service.
“So this is allowed in church!? Self-service?”, yelled Tumi.
However, he further explains that he no longer relieves himself in such a manner as he feels that God doesn’t approve of his actions.
“He is really pure. I’m sure he closes his eyes when he bathes. He doesn’t want to see himself naked,” jokes Tumi.
On the other hand, Lasizwe did not believe a word of what Simon was saying about his non-existent sex life.
Street-smart Moratuwa
It became clear that Simon may have found himself the perfect date in Moratuwa after meeting with her family.
Moratuwa has a very strong personality and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, while Simon is a bit reserved. Because of their different personalities, Lasizwe thinks they are a perfect match for each other, while Carpo is convinced that Moratuwa could beat the pastor up.
Tumi adds that Moratuwa looks like the kind of woman who opens a bottle of beer with her teeth.
Ya’ll are a bit judgemental their, hey, gents?
Simon might just get some
Simon chose Moratuwa and they got along like a house on fire. The date went so well that, at one point, things got a bit hot and steamy.
Simon told Moratuwa that because he’s a born-again Christian there will be no sex for him before marriage.
Moratuwa acknowledged his rule but cautioned him that should they have a second date she’ll make him very busy – which made Simon rather nervous.
